And yet it's also like I have to be reintroduced to it. The Bay Area has been the home of part of my mother's family since the mid 19th century, so I feel a claim there, too.... Some day, I hope to visit my ancestor's homes in the Czech Republic and Germany. I've been to both those countries (but not to the specific towns my ancestors came from), and there is just a connection... I think it's like what you feel with Ireland. It just feels familiar and *right* and I think it would feel that way even if no one had ever told me that's where my family came from. Love it. History gives me a tingly feeling sometimes! :)Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03681286726202894813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2157622235657010856.post-88052805416478516502011-03-11T15:52:30.284-08:002011-03-11T15:52:30.284-08:00@Demandablog

The problem with living in so many places, it seems to me, is that pieces of your heart are left in each. I want to live in my hometown, here in Santa Barbara, in Dublin, in Kilkenny, and even in Philadelphia! But I am very close with my parents and mostly just want to live in the SF Bay Area so that our family can stay close-knit. I wish I could be everywhere I love at once.MDShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04664007262047544839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2157622235657010856.post-2866008430415317002011-03-11T15:26:50.513-08:002011-03-11T15:26:50.513-08:00That sounds like it was an amazing trip! I especially want to go to Germany and visit my pen pal! :) And Sweden- I'm at least 1/8 Swedish, probably more (LOL I figured out from one side of the family, haven't added in the other yet!).
